TACOS La Paloma in Anoka

Excellent place to try real “Mexican street tacos”. Barbacoa tacos are the best!! I tried few places around the Twincities, and was a bit uncertain when I walked in at first, but after the first bite. I was sold! Excellent!! I could eat them all day long!

We got take out. I didn't know we had such great authentic food nearby, this will definitely be dangerous for my waistline. The prices are very reasonable. The service was very quick. I didn't wait very long to put my order in, in fact the cashier was waiting for me to make up my mind.Now let me get to the good part... The food. You betcha buddy! It was damn good!!! I haven't found better tacos or tamales out of the inner city, of downtown Mpls and St Paul. This place is definitely a must stop!

The food is delicious and affordable! The only issue was that they did not bring all our food out at the same time, so some people were almost done when others just started eating.

Much better than fast food, if that rings a bell, but less ambience than the Casa. A strip mall diner setting with excellent quality food. The asada enchiladas were very good and the chicken quesadillas were solid. A variety of sauces for flavor and/or warming the belly. Also a good variety of beverages. FYI: closed Sundays.

Empty plates say it all. Fantastic asada enchiladas. Unassuming storefront, but super good food and quick service. We're moving to the neighborhood and we'll definitely be back!

Based on all the great reviews, I was excited to try this place. Wow what a disappointment! This was authentic street style Mexican food but it was no good. We tried all the different meats in our tacos and they were all very dry, bland, lacking taste or flavor. The chorizo was really bad to the point we couldn’t eat it. In addition to bad quality food, the service was extremely poor. They took our order and brought it to our table without a spoken word to us from start to finish. Not even a thank you, and we tipped them at the order counter too. To those who give this place high ratings, I urge you to try some of the other local small local authentic places in MPLS and St Paul. I’ve been to several Mexican food trucks that were far superior to this place.

I was craving authentic tacos during my pregnancy. I found this place, made my husband grab me some tacos, and it was soooo satisfying. Their price has gone up since, but I’d definitely recommend going here. My second time, there wasn’t much flavor in the meat. I’ve gone here about 4 times so far, and 3 out of 4 visits were great. This is my go to place for tacos! The burrito, it was mainly meat, refried beans, and rice... it was still good but I wish there was more ingredients in it.

Great food, huge quantity (i couldn't easy my serving) and low prices. The only knock is the limited supply of drinks but I only drink water so it remains 5 stars!

Love this place! Very authentic and have never been disappointed in the flavor of the food. We usually get it to go since it's small inside. Try the lingua tacos. You won't be disappointed!

Excellent tacos. Had the Carne Asada, Cabeza de Rez, and Al Pastor. The Cabeza was the best. My daughter got the nachos and there was enough to feed everyone. Would highly recommend to anyone in the Anoka area looking for authentic tacos.

It's the one place to Go to to get authentic Mexican food and their prices are in half at either. In my own opinion it's better than Taco Bell

I was new to this place I did not know what to expect found it to be a really authentic Mexican style restaurant. I would not really go there again because I am used to the more Tex-Mex flavors. The place is Cheerful and very clean and decorated with Mexican art on the wall and a Spanish movie playing on the television. It is kind of small and a "pay at the counter and bring it back to your table (cafeteria style). the food was okay. The Food I selected was from a menu hand-written on a piece of paper (daily special). I have edited my original review to convey that the place is cheerful and very clean.. btw, I have met the owners and I shop their Tienda (Mexican grocery store) two shops down any chance I can..

My favorite taco place in the North Metro and one of the best taco places in the state IMO. Prices are reasonable, service is decent, and food is excellent. I go here on a regular basis. Definitely recommend their tacos.

Finally a great place in the burbs with authentic street tacos and other hispanic foods, this is an awesome hidden gem!

If you want authentic street tacos this is the place, or at least one of the few places that you can get a taco as if you were in Mexico. It's a small mom and pop place, and the owners are personable, very friendly, and appreciative for our business. We always go with the 4 steak tacos and wash it down with a cold glass bottle of Coca Cola from Mexico. The Mexican Coke is slightly different from Coke bottled here in the States. I could be mistaken, but I believe it is made from sugar cane instead of corn syrup. Regardless, it's nice to have a local place that offers authentic Mexican food and drink that taste as it was meant to taste. We really like this place and make the drive from Andover at least once a week to support this restaurant.

It's kind of a hole in the wall type of joint, but the tacos were very authentic! Simple, but excellent flavor!I had two of the Al Pastor Taco's (pork), which I highly recommend! I also had one Lengua Taco (beef tongue). It was my first lengua taco, but won't be my last either. I also got a plate of rice and beans, which is mandatory in my opinion.It was all great, and again I highly recommend this place!

There is nothing better than simple food prepared by people who know what they're doing.First: Do not be afraid of meats that aren't mainstream. Get it out of your head that certain meats are "nasty," and just try things. Out of everything I've tried (and I've been here a few times), the lingua (tongue) is the best. It's tender, flavorful... just... wonderful! The pastor also unbelievable (if you can't bring yourself to try the lingua).Everything tastes like it came out of abuela's kitchen... You can't ask for better. I've tried all the tacos, and even some of the bigger entrées. Can't really find anything to complain about. Well... maybe on a cold day, it is a little chilly in there, so wear a sweatshirt! Other than that, come here... often!

I have been trying to find a place with good lengua tacos close to home since I fell in love with it in St. Paul.. this place has exactly what I've been looking for... Delicious Authentic Tacos!! The lengua was deliciously seasoned and stewed, and it's only 5 minutes from home.. what could be better? 😍

There was a line of 3 people, I was third. The older man that was taking the first order was so rude to the nurse. Seemed rushed & bothered by her, the client. Then he went to the back & after 4 minutes(probably more) of waiting we all left, the couple in front of me rang the bell but nothing & he didn't say a word to us when he left us there. What an awful place, don't open if there isn't someone to help & definitely don't leave the grumpy old man to be the face of your establishment. Kinda glad I didn't have to deal with him, go elsewhere.

Tacos were pretty good but shrimp cocktail was awful it was shrimp in tomato juice. I love shrimp cocktails but have never had one like this. We also ate in and were sweating because it was so stuffy inside
